Before the Refugee Act of 1980 standardized refugee resettlement through the use of resettlement agencies, such as the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, resettlement was largely conducted privately or through community groups. With the increasing numbers and enthusiasm of local community groups offering to partner to resettle refugees, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ is committed to integrating community sponsorship programming at the local and national levels!

April is National Volunteer Month, where we honor the generous volunteers in our communities who make our work possible! Tommy Thompson is a dedicated mentor in the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Tallahassee’s volunteer-led Youth program which helps middle-and high-school refugee students learn English and better adjust to their new home.
