Immigration Volunteers work with Immigration Legal Representative(s) to directly assist clients with the processing and follow up of applications for lawful permanent residence, family reunification, and other immigration petitions necessary to receive legal residency in the United States and reunite family members.

The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Department, provides essential oversight of program quality assurance, data management, and compliance across all organizational levels. MEL ensures programs meet high standards through accurate outcome documentation, internal monitoring, audit preparedness, and staff training on data systems. The Quality Assurance Intern will support these efforts by focusing primarily on client feedback. This includes contacting clients by phone to conduct surveys, recording and tracking feedback and helping to organize and analyze responses. The intern will gain hands-on experience in client engagement, quality assurance processes and how feedback informs program improvement and accountability within a nonprofit setting.

The Ukrainian Support Services (USS) program focuses on providing case management supportive services to Ukrainian nationals who fled to the US due to Russia’s invasion in Ukraine. The USS volunteer will support case management staff in the field with direct client services.

The USS Intern will assist case management staff with administrative tasks and in providing case management support to individuals fleeing the war in Ukraine as they adjust to their new lives in the US.

The Child Watch Volunteers and Staff will work with the Women’s Resilience Center Team to care for client children at the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ San Diego office while their parents are attending ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ programs. Two staff/volunteers will be working with client children at all times. This position removes the barrier that a lack of childcare creates to our clients participating in personal and professional empowerment programming, setting up both parents and children for greater success.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute to the well-being and community development within the Women’s Resilience Center (WRC). These interactive sessions are hosted online, via ZOOM, or in person at our El Cajon or City Heights offices, where volunteers create a safe, welcoming space to practice yoga with WRC participants.

The Career Development (CD) program at ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta supports adult refugee and immigrant clients in their career journeys as they pursue coursework, training programs, certifications, and prerequisites for future career pathways. Many clients are English Language Learners who benefit from additional tutoring to strengthen their academic and workforce development skills. By serving as an academic tutor with the Career Development program, you will help clients build confidence, deepen subject understanding, and develop strategies for long-term academic success.

Under the supervision of the Development Manager for the NorCal region, as well as the four Volunteer & Donation Coordinators across the NorCal offices, the Social Media intern will assist in managing ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s outreach and communication efforts.

̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Des Moines Youth Education Volunteer Tutors provide tutoring, mainly consisting of homework help and English language development support for refugee and immigrant youth, grades 6-12. Each tutor works with 1 student and is responsible for submitting a case note regarding each of their tutees’ progress directly after each session of tutoring.

Scope of work: The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Iowa seeks volunteers to support employment readiness programming, where newly arrived refugees learn about finding employment and working in the United States. Support may include interview preparation, how to look for jobs, how to maintain a job, types of jobs in the United States, and skills needed to advance in your job. Support may be offered on an individual basis or through group classes.

The Mental Health Resource Guide Intern will support the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡-LA team in developing, updating, and organizing a comprehensive, user-friendly guide to local mental health services and support resources. This role is ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in mental health, public health, social work, or community advocacy.

Under the supervision of the Senior Career Development Specialist, the Microenterprise Volunteer will support refugee and immigrant clients enrolled in the childcare program.
