Location: Hybrid - Sacramento, CA
Duration: Internships require a commitment of 4 months, 15 hours/week, or minimum of 240 hours total.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Department, provides essential oversight of program quality assurance, data management, and compliance across all organizational levels. MEL ensures programs meet high standards through accurate outcome documentation, internal monitoring, audit preparedness, and staff training on data systems. The Quality Assurance Intern will support these efforts by focusing primarily on client feedback. This includes contacting clients by phone to conduct surveys, recording and tracking feedback and helping to organize and analyze responses. The intern will gain hands-on experience in client engagement, quality assurance processes and how feedback informs program improvement and accountability within a nonprofit setting.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Feedback and Engagement
- Call clients to conduct feedback surveys;
- Record responses accurately and track survey completion rates;
- Ensure client concerns and feedback are documented appropriately;
Data Management and Quality Assurance
- Assist with entering, organizing, and maintaining client survey data;
- Track survey participation and response trends;
- Support efforts to ensure data integrity and confidentiality;
- Review casefiles for audit preparation and QA checks;
Reporting and Documentation
- Help summarize survey results and generate reports for staff and funders
- Contribute to preparing materials that highlight key insights from client feedback
Administrative and Program Support
- Provide assistance with forms, spreadsheets, and tools to track feedback;
- Attend and document relevant meetings, ensuring accurate note-taking;
- Support cross-functional projects related to quality assurance and program improvement.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and maintain professionalism with clients and staff;
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage sensitive information confidentially;
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively is essential, along with a flexible and positive attitude;
- Basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, are required, and a willingness to learn new software is important;
- An interest in nonprofit work and data management is strongly preferred.
