Inspired by innovation: In August, Rebecca Porter took on the Thames Path ultra-marathon to raise funds for the ̽����ѡ’s Airbel Center, our innovation hub. Rebecca was spurred into action when she saw ̽����ѡ innovation chief Ravi Gurumurthy’s in London, which she described as “truly inspirational.” Months of training and fundraising, one mega bucket shaking session and 33 miles in the hot sun later and Rebecca had raised over £3,500!

A pantomime for a good cause: The Tingewick Society – Oxford Medical School’s charity firm – has a proud tradition of putting on raucous Christmas pantomimes for great causes. This year’s committee chose to support the ̽����ѡ. Acted, written, designed and produced by Oxford’s medical students, the event saw over 1,400 people attend over four nights at the end of November, they raised an incredible £10,000 for the ̽����ѡ.

Bringing together #TeamRescue: To close the year out, six runners from #TeamRescue took to Richmond Park for the RunThrough half marathon. They trained hard, fundraised hard and most importantly, raised an impressive £1700 for people affected by conflict and disaster.

In 2016 archaeologist and avid cyclist, Dylan Hopkinson, set out on a round-the-world adventure by bicycle for the ̽����ѡ. So far, he has cycled over 20000km through Europe into Turkey, and across the Caspian Sea to join the Silk Route through Central Asia. Now in India, Dylan expects his cycling challenge to last several years, with every penny raised going to the ̽����ѡ.
