The escalation of armed conflict in Mali is having grave consequences for civilians already suffering  the effects of political instability, mass displacement and severe food shortages.

Tens of thousands of people have fled Aleppo as Syrian government forces take control of eastern areas of the city following months of besiegement and aerial bombardment. Here’s a closer look at the situation.

The ̽����ѡ understands how vital education can be for creating stability and reducing trauma for children affected by conflict. Through the Children of Peace initiative the ̽����ѡ and the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) are training teachers, rebuilding classrooms, providing a quality education, as well as leisure activities, and helping children have a normal childhood. The ̽����ѡ is also working closely with parents and the community to invest in the futures of their children through education.
