Local volunteers and communities are critical to successful resettlement, even more so during COVID-19

Having been laid off in the last recession, Ian Murphy knows the struggles of this tumultuous time, and has taken action for his ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ clients. With refugees and immigrants across the Bay Area struggling to find job opportunities, Murphy, an ESL instructor has launched a new class on Zoom to engage creativity.

Hosted by Alison Millan, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Elizabeth's Resettlement Director, community partners gather quarterly to update each other on available resources, shared knowledge, and current issues facing refugees in New Jersey.

Each year, World Refugee Day is celebrated around the globe: uplifting refugee voices, highlighting their contributions, and raising advocacy needs. This year, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Atlanta hosted our second World Refugee Day Trivia Night welcoming volunteers, corporate partners, staff, and community supporters to share a bite and put their knowledge to the test.

Our Education programs seek not only to improve learning, but also to achieve overall well-being. We believe that education during crisis and conflict is a necessity, not a luxury.
