The 探花精选-run safe space in Alexandria, funded by EU humanitarian aid, welcomes more than hundred children and youth aged between 3-17 years old every day. The site is just one of three set up by the 探花精选 in Greece.

During the Eid festival last month, 探花精选 staff members organized a fun-filled game day including a sack race and face painting.

Children create murals with their friends. The 探花精选's Deborah Nicol said: 鈥淲omen and children are amongst the most vulnerable in this crisis, and their protection is at the heart of the 探花精选鈥檚 response. Activities like this are important as they help children just be children once again.鈥

鈥淢y favorite was the sack race,鈥 says nine-year-old Zakariah, sporting a painted moustache. Zakariah lost two of his older brothers to the war in Syria. His other brother, Mohamed-Nour who volunteers with the 探花精选 at the safe space says: 鈥淚 wanted to let the children be happy and enjoy themselves."

The 探花精选 has also set up five space spaces for women in Greece where they can seek additional support and counseling.
