Students were excited to make new friends and join the fun at this summer’s 23rd annual Newcomer Youth Summer Academy (NYSA)! This year's NYSA ran for five weeks from July 11 to August 16.  

A unique initiative is dismantling barriers and introducing refugee youth to the exhilarating world of indoor climbing. Health promotion program supervisor, Kaitlin Campbell, explains how the partnership with The Front Climbing Club was created and its impact on refugee youth.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡â€™s education programming for primary school-aged children has three overarching goals: (1) to ensure that children enroll in and attend school regularly; (2) to protect children from all forms of violence in school and on their way to school; and (3) to build fundamental reading, math and social-emotional skills.
