At Cannes:

On May 21, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) hosted an event at the 2017 Festival de Cannes in France benefiting the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. Among the stars attending were Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Brittany Snow, Lily Collins, Dustin Hoffman, and Jeremy Renner.  Actor Jake Gyllenhaal accepted the $500,000 HFPA donation on behalf of the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. The donation will go toward ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ programs that support refugees fleeing war and persecution.

In Hollywood:

On Oscar weekend in February, Hollywood luminaries participated in red carpet photo ops and street protests as the entertainment industry mustered its considerable star power to support vulnerable and far less visible populations affected by the Trump Administration's travel ban.

The powerhouse United Talent Agency (UTA) cancelled its annual Academy Awards party this year and is raising funds to support the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The agency staged an open United Voices rally at its Los Angeles headquarters this Friday with Jodie Foster, Michael J. Fox, Keegan-Michael Key and Ì½»¨¾«Ñ¡ President David Miliband among the headline speakers. (See highlights from the event below.)
