From October to December 2024, volunteer-run used bookstore, The Novel Refuge, pledged 100% of its profits to the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Silver Spring, raising $1,000 to support newcomers in Maryland. 

Based in Laurel, Maryland, The Novel Refuge offers a great selection of gently-used books, games and puzzles—purchases that directly give back to the community. The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Silver Spring extends a heartfelt thank you to volunteer, Kathy Bittinger, who leads the program for her leadership. We’re grateful for your commitment to the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and the impact you’ve made contributing to the success of newcomers to Maryland.
